The Sertoma Club of Summerville was founded on December 1, 1972.
The charter banquet was held at Kings Grant Country Club and was
presided over by the original president Mr. W. Rosser Thrash. The Charter
Membership included 70 prominent members of the Summerville
Community and surrounding area.

Since its beginning, the Summerville Sertoma Club has served the
community in the highest tradition of Service To Mankind.

The key to the club's success has been the manner in which each member
has responded in support to many local agencies and to activities in the past
thirty two years. Our club provides direct support  to local and national
speech and hearing impaired programs; sponsorship of organized youth
football; food to the needy; donations to feed the elderly; scholarships to
young students and athletes; national heritage contests and awards; and a
number of other worthwhile programs.

One only has to look at our banners to envision the thousands of hours of
dedicated service provided for the betterment of our fellow man.
